It is in the Appalachian Mountains near Reading, Pennsylvania. Rosalie Edge bought and protected it 1n 1934. She also led successful campaigns to create Olympic and Kings Canyon National Parks. She helped expand Yosemite. She organized a movement to protect all birds and animals. She learned confidence and organizing as a suffragette- giving speeches, writing pamphlets, and becoming treasurer of the NY League of Women Voters.
